iOS 16 and newer are fully supported.
Microsoft recommends using the latest iOS version and latest Authenticator app version to avoid issues2.
Older versions (iOS 15 and below) may experience limited functionality or lack support for newer features like passwordless sign-in.
π±Quick Fixes for Microsoft
Authenticator Not Prompting
Restart the iPhone
Hold the power button and slide
to power off.
Turn it back on after 10
seconds.
Check Notifications
Go to Settings >
Notifications > Authenticator
Make sure:
Allow Notifications
is ON
Lock Screen
, Notification Center,
and Banners are enabled
Check Internet Connection
Make sure Wi-Fi or mobile data
is working.
Try switching between Wi-Fi and
cellular.
Update the App
Open the App Store
Search for Microsoft
Authenticator
Tap Update if
available
Disable Focus / Do Not Disturb
Swipe down from the top right
Make sure Focus or Do
Not Disturb is OFF
Open the Authenticator App
Sometimes opening the app
manually triggers the prompt.

Check Internet Connection

Update the App

Tap Update if

Check Date & Time Settings

System > Date & Time
Enable Automatic date
& time and Automatic time zone
