Determine whether you are running Windows 10 or Windows 11, follow these steps:
Method 1: Using the Settings App
- Open Settings: Click on the Start menu (Windows icon) and then select the Settings gear icon or press Windows + I on your keyboard.
- Go to System: In the Settings window, click on System.
- About: Scroll down and select About on the left sidebar.
- Check Windows Version: Under “Windows specifications,” you will see the edition and version of your Windows operating system. It will state whether you are running Windows 10 or Windows 11.
Method 2: Using Winver Command
- Run the Command: Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type Command: Type
winver and hit Enter. - View Information: A window will pop up showing the version of Windows you are running, along with the build number.
- Rounded Corners: Windows 11 features a more rounded design with softer edges.
- Centered Taskbar: The Start menu and taskbar icons are centered, unlike in Windows 10.
- Widgets and Snap Layouts: Includes a new Widgets feature and enhanced multitasking options.
If you follow these methods, you should be able to easily identify which version of Windows you are using.
